For anyone who has done this, or is about to, I hereby hand over the tissue box. It took me several years after he was finished with college to finally pull the trigger. I suppose there’s a very compelling reason to never do this, and preserve it in perpetuity just as he left it when he left for college, but that, to me, felt worse than the alternative.
